Our Co-Founder Bonnie and Louisa, David and Alejandra from our Research Team attended the Social Innovation and Global Ethics Forum in Geneva, from October 23-25, 2015.
Organised by Horyou, a leading social network for social good, SIGEF is an annual international event that gathers non-profit organizations, renowned speakers, social entrepreneurs and the general public for three days of dialogue and interaction. This year is expected to have a broad scope and reach, with 5,000 participants, 100 NGOs, 30 keynote speakers and 50 media partners. We were particularly excited to meet those from French and Spanish-speaking countries.
On Day 1, Bonnie spoke on a panel, Gender Equality Through Financial Empowerment, together with Souad Dibi, Présidente of Association Féminine de Bienfaisance El Khir and Touraya Bouabid, President & Founder of AMESIP Association, both from Morocco. They spoke about the importance of educating women of their rights, especially their right to read and write.
On Day 2, Lensational hosted a project space, in order to showcase our work as part of the SIGEF Project Awards. 120 projects entered into the Project Awards, and finally 50 projects were chosen to be represented at SIGEF. We had a lot of interesting conversations with potential partners and funders.
